Piece of the Week: Muzo’s Emerald and Argyle Pink Diamond Ring
It’s a special collaboration between two legendary mines.
This week’s Piece of the Week jewel represents a meeting of the mines. (Get it?)
Dad jokes aside, the ring features a Colombian emerald and Australian pink diamond pairing from arguably the world’s most famous mines: Muzo in Colombia and the now-closed Argyle in Australia.
The two provenances dovetailed in the companies’ “Green Jewel” collaboration.
The ring was spotted on the red carpet this week, alongside other Muzo emerald jewels, on actress Stephanie Beatriz at the premiere of the new Disney flick “Encanto,” which features music by Lin-Manuel Miranda of “Hamilton” fame.
Beatriz’s nod to Colombia was intentional, to honor the animated film’s Colombian setting.

Beatriz, an actress best known for her role on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” paired her many Muzo emeralds with a matching green crown.
The toi et moi ring she sported was timeless, but on-trend, with two-stone rings maintaining steady popularity in recent years.
The Muzo and Argyle “Green Jewel” collection ring is crafted in 18-karat rose gold with two pear-shaped Muzo emeralds, weighing 2.34 and 2.74 carats, surrounded by almost 1.5 carats of Argyle pink diamonds.
